These people were playing a practical joke which has back-fired. Janice Shell was written up in Fortune a few months back as a "watch dog" of internet scams. These people were simply attempting to demonstrate how easy it is to fool innocent investors.

While these people have ask questions on SI about Veronex, to the best of my recollection, none have attacked Veronex. Some of these same people and others may have also been involved in another prank to demonstrate the power of the internet which did not use a news wire service. This other prank did make fun of Veronex and the I|Nova System as a Y2k solution.
