Hi thread -- a few weeks ago I suggested, jokingly, that our company consider changing its name to Atmel.com -- well, this is almost as good. Let's remember that Atmel has "agreements," arrangements, contracts, whatever, with a LOT of companies. Eventually, one hopes, those will find their way to the bottom line. But it seems to have taken Microsoft's name to get Atmel to move strongly. Yesterday I mentioned that I was looking for a strong price rise on volume above 4 million shares; I should have bought a lottery ticket with that kind of timing! Cheers to all, but let's maintain our perspective. Atmel has nearly quadrupled since its August 31, 1998, low; it opened today with a gap on the upside (can any of the TAs out there tell us if that reversed a gap on the downside?). On the other hand, if folk start thinking about it as an internet play, whoooopeeeee! Uh, er, I mean, let's enjoy this and hope that 2Q earnings are good. Cheers/t |
