The Semi-industry will hit $310 billion in rev. by 2000 according to
Dataquest. Capital investments grew 70% in 1995 to $38 billion and
will rise a moderate 30% this year to $49.3 billion, continuing on to
a record $69.5 billion in 2000. Some delays in fab investments this
year but 200 new fabs must be built by 2000 if the industry is to
produce the anticipated $310 billion in rev. for 2000.
