Are you at your office, or home? If at the office, you are likely connected via Ethernet. In that case, your ethernet LAN may tie into a connection via cable or other data line to @home. If you are on a LAN at home, you are probably connected to some type of hub, router or LAN card which then ties into @home via cable or data line. Am I close?

You need to tell me where you are(home or office) and how you connect at each juncture. That would help.

The bottom line goes back to the BRCM announcement for Gigabit, which is a LAN technology (read corp office environment). It is not for home connectivity.
