I used to read Levi in the New York Review of Books, primarily, which would excerpt his stuff. I was very sad when he took his life, but I understand. I have not read the other book. Didn't Pasolini make a film of it? I keep meaning to see it on video...I have heard about the area, although I have never visited. The Italian part of my family came from the Naples area, although I cannot be more specific.
It is interesting that you lived in Washington. As a diplomat, or with an international agency? Or just as a businessman. What part of the city? By the way, my wife has met Tony Williams, the new mayor, and he seems to be both competent and serious.... |
