O.T. Just started negotiating for a SDSL line. It is confusing.

BestWeb (NYC area) offers 192kbps for $165.00/month.
Router (required) is $550.00 - will handle 4 workstations.
Installation is $275.00
5 email "boxes" and 8 IP addresses (5 usable) are included.
16 additional IPs are $10 per month

Globix (NYC area) offers 192kbps for $99.00/month.
Router is $600 and will also handle 4 worstations.
Installation is $340.00
1 email "box" and 1 IP address is included.
Tthey offer a block of 6 IPs for a one time charge of $25

Evidently the router has connections for 4 computers and a 192kbps line will easily handle 4 computers.

What I don't understand is the pricing. Why is one $99/mo. and the other $165/mo for what seems to be the same service? How are the prices in your area? Do you have the same sort of range?
