<<My point merely was that if saner minds reflect upon the situation a bit more, they will realize that everyone loses if China and the US decide to continue heating up the rancor and rhetoric.>>

That I agree. This kind of "cold war" does not benefit neither countries. "Can't we all get along?" At least this is my wish.

But after living in the US for the last 10 years or so, and after listening to those unproved, unfounded, one-sided, and very biased reporting about China day in and day out, I genuinely think the people in the US are brain washed about China. Damn China does and damn China doesn't. That nothing China can do will please this country, unless China gives its sovereignty up, and listens to whatever the US says. That will be out of the question from China part.

And for those who think it is the Chinese gov. organized those protest and demonstration. Here is a site they can take a look at -- stat.wisc.edu. This is Chinese students at UW, Madison self-organized activity. No any Chinese gov. official ever involved. And there are dozens of this kind of memorial activities going on right here on the US campus.

And yesterday, I overheard on TV that the US Defense Secretary Cohen said that it is understandable that Chinese people (means those physically in China) reacted so strongly about the bombing of Chinese Embassy, because they have not been told the truth by the Chinese gov. controlled media about what is really happened in Kosovo. Then I want to ask him, how is he going to explain these activities right here on the US campus? These Chinese students watch the US TV news report every day, and why do they also react so strongly?
