A good indicator of the coming earnings. I am in the military and we have a ton of computers in our building. I have a Compaq on my desk that worked ok but today they just trashed about 60 Compaq's and replaced them with Dells. I asked the guy in charge why and he said it was for the Y2K problems anticipated with Compaq. Too many of the parts for Compaq are proprietary, where Dell is easy to upgrade and the service with the Dells were much better. He went on to tell me a horror story about a problem they had with CPQ service a few months back. Perhaps this is another look at the end user and which way they are turning. I know the military is tight on money and a move like this really made me take notice. I hold lots of both CPQ and DELL stock but I found this very interesting.
