They have only 2.37 million shares so far. The way it is going they won't get VLSI for $ 21! This is getting pretty interesting! 2.37 million * $ 21 is $ 49.77 million! That is less than 5 % of the $ 1+ billion offer! VLSI is looking good and going towards $ 30. IMHO Philips won't be able to grab VLSI this summer! Wednesday May 12, 6:42 pm Eastern Time Philips extends deadline on VLSI bid SUNNYVALE, Calif., May 12 (Reuters) - Royal Philips Electronics NV said on Wednesday it would extending its tender offer for shares of VLSI Technology Inc (VLSI - news) to midnight EDT on June 1. The $21.00 per share tender offer had been scheduled to end at midnight EDT on May 14, Philips said in a statement. The Dutch electronics giant said the offer was extended to allow more time to resolve any potential regulatory issues. VLSI, a maker of specialty semiconductors, performs work for the U.S. government. As of May 11, about 2.37 million VLSI shares had been tendered, Philips said.
