DD,

OK, you got me there, but you took it slightly out of context.

My point is that MANY Americans have been brutalized or killed while in foreign countries that were engaged in war. US embassies have been bombed, vandalized, and Americans held hostage for political reasons (remember Iran??) They were there at their own risk and understood the danger. At least, were I in their situation, I would not be under the illusion that I was completely safe.

So what about the reports of Americans being abused and threatened in China right now??? Should Americans become as outraged at these provocations and start marching on the Chinese Embassy here??

Where does it end?

Am I essentially hearing that the Chinese people are unable or incapable of accepting apologies or offering forgiveness??

Is there no understanding or outrage against Serbian atrocities amongst Chinese people??

Will they have the blood of innocent Kosovar Albanians upon their hands??

Will they invite the animosity and hatred of the entire Islamic world for their support of a genocidal maniac like Milosevic?? A hatred that could be exploited against their unruly Muslim population (which they are oppressing)??

Well... who knows??

I just wanted to have some fun playing the devil's advocate.

Regards,

Ron
