tom,

What is the market value of the fabs and the BCRM investment compared to the carrying value on the balance sheet?

you might check out Trident now. They have $3 in cash. The fab investment in UICC burned about 1 and 1/2 years ago. UICC rec'd the insurance money Oak (Nasdaq: OAKT) already rec'd their $50 million cash back for their 10% partnership in UICC. Trident told me they were offered back their $49 million by UICC. Not sure if they will take it or try to find another fab investment. If they do take it, that gives trident $83 million in cash, or $6 share, no debt, book value over $7 and stock price of $6.50. Now, the kicker is that they have the first notebook graphics integrated directly onto the chipset. Intel has done this on the desktop but does not appear close on desktop. Neomagic and ATI are Tridents main competitors on notebook. Trident is postioned on the low end.
