Wayde, good analysis. One thing I think you have understimated is the growth potential of Fast Ethernet. The projections I have seen from IDC, etc. show growth rates for FE quite a bit above 47%. Are you making the same easy mistake as many analysts? That is, mixing the "old" Ethernet and new Fast Ethernet markets together? MRVC deals very little (if at all) in the "old" Ethernet networking and thus is at the leading edge of a growth spurt closer to triple digits than 47%. And I can't begin to estimate the growth in Gig Ether.

In fact, the CEO of National Semiconductor was on CNBC today, and he concurrs with my analysis: the FE(100MB) market is exploding, while the old 10MB market is kinda flat. In fact, the Intel price reductions on the FE cards drove down the value of the old 10MB inventory, causing problems for companies like 3Com. However, with everyone converting to FE, they'll need FE switches!

I'd have to say that MRVC's market stands out; low 10MB exposure+no NIC exposure+high FE exposure+high GE exposure. I don't think any networker compares. That's why MRVC can maintain triple-digit growth,

Dan
