Frank - Have you had time to read the article entitled "Routers For Real-Time Applications" in the May edition of SoundingBoard Mag at soundingboardmag.com I found it an interesting discussion of how older routers have become the bottleneck for VoIP and the different ways in which the equipment vendors are attempting to deal with voice packets and data packets on the same network. Nortel wants to strip off voice over IP traffic and dedicate a VPN or virtual circuit to it on the backbone. Parallel processors and small packet handling are discussed. Ken
