MeD , its timing , SGI now could be a "easy one" for a strategic AAPL Alliance

With yesterday's G 4 demo and a coming suitable Unix GUI OS , AAPL will be in a position to hammer SGI's low level workstation market .

SGI has time to THIMK about it . Ole Larry E's NCI uses SGI's MIPs CPUs and he just made a deal (news yesterday) with AOL etc.

Suspect Larry's friend Steve will allow proper time for the ink to dry on that contract .

In the meantime there is behind the scenes movement by SGI toward AAPL through a 3rd party connectivity offering:

----
" Intergraph and SGI (Silicon Graphics) now both include versions of PC MACLAN with every workstation shipped.

Intergraph has been including PC MACLAN for Windows NT with their ViZual Workstations for over a year while SGI has recently begun bundling a demo copy of PC MACLAN for Windows NT with their 320 and 540 Workstations.

Intergraph's and SGI's inclusion of PC MACLAN is a testament to its validity as the cross-platform connectivity solution for Mac to NT interoperability. "

For Info: ... see the March issue of PUBLISHING & PRODUCTION EXECUTIVE magazine or visit SGI's at sgi.com

Its one word* MeD , timing .

Well almost one word ; low cost G 3, 4s and Server OS X add a few more.
