The first tier OEMS mentioned by Ken included; NEC,HITACHI(the parent of hitachi data), IBM, HP,SUN, Compaq. In spite of the fact that we hear of different switch makers, I still got the feeling that the main competitor is Brocade.
I asked one of them if the reports from interop were good, specifically, I asked them if they had blown any fuses during their demonstrations: they said reports were good and "no" they had not had any problems. Remember , they were demonstrating the hot swapable and self-configuring plugins ,which allow changes while the switch is operating.I think this is something which Brocade does not currently offer.
