I think I ran across that Descartes fellow when he was in the non-bathing phase. It was at Billy Bobs House of Fine BBQ and Eats. (you will remember it as the place that had the 30 ft sign that said,

and had the waitress with the beehive hairdo.)
Anyhow...this guy was waxing really philosophical when he said something that caught my attention and seems to apply to the current situation. He said, "You can take a switch and run a houndawg all over the country but when you git him on his own front porch - he'll turn and bite you."
Being interested philosophy myself, I was interested in who said that so I asked, "Spinoza?"
He ran a finger up a nostril and said, "No...must just be a booger hanging out my nose."
