My understanding is that cable modem is superior technology over DSL; however, in Dallas, TCI Cable breaks down frequently--just about everytime we get lots of rain. By contrast, Southwestern Bell telephone lines don't break down. Since I would purchase the service for home and basic internet usage, I am not sure I would need the superior attributes and think, at this point in time, that I would sacrifice superiority for reliability. Your thoughts or anyone else's would be welcome.
