Lots of issues have been raised here today. My opinions:
1. Philips contract is VERY nice. A strong vote of confidence from Philips with regard to IMG's manufacturing expertise. Business like this will pay the bills nicely until the broader applications of superconductivity for the electric power industry come into focus. One downside, if there is one, is that MRI magnets are low-margined products. It also continues IMG's dependence on MRI magnets for its primary source of income.

2. This should put the buyout non-sense on the Yahoo board to rest. Why would Philips sign a multi-year agreement with IMG if IMG were about to be bought out by GE? Philips and GE Medical Systems are arch-rivals in the MRI business.

3. I agree with you, Tom. I don't see IMG and AMSC ever getting together.

4. I'm with you, Gerald. I don't know what's up with FRIGC. We haven't heard any mention of the renovated facility in Schenectedy lately. They are getting to the point that it's time to shoot this dying dog and put it out of its misery.

In general, I think the volatility will continue. This latest run has attracted a lot of players with a short term focus. They tend to get bored and drop out quickly. Once they figure out there is no buyout at hand, they will drop out. Just my opinion.
