but of course. Let us speculate a bit that intel is drawing 5% of patented portion of the chip which say is 10%(just speculating). Now take a price of $300*.05*.1=$1.5. Now if they would not buy k6 they would buy $600 Klamath of which intel gets 60% profit margin that is $360. So intel gives up $360 for $1.5 from amd. Hmmmm...
Sounds like a good deal to me. If say amd would sell 30M chips a year then intel would get $45M which is somewhere around .04 /share and gives up a profit of $10.8B which is about more than $10/share.
Yep, that is really great deal for intel shareholders, I think.
