Jim and Thread,
The SI SanDisk Thread was well represented at the Shareholders' Meeting. The attendence was surprisingly light with B.O.D. members and company officers making up the bulk of the audience. Only about 8 or 10 individual investors were there.
The meeting was initially formal, following the list of items for voting mentioned in the annual report package/proxy letter. Thereafter there was a brief question and answer period. Afterward we had a very enjoyable chat with some company staff including Bob Goligoski, the Director of P.R., Don Kadish, a technical support engineer, Steve Gross, a senior engineer and early SunDisk employee, Sharon Spehar, from shareholder relations, and others. Rex had the chance to rub shoulders with Dr. Harari and Cindy Burgdorf prior to the opening remarks, while I and about 4 other shareholders were held hostage in the front lobby.
I left the meeting with a strong sense of teamwork in the organization, as well as very high employee satisfaction.
As always, I was impressed with Dr. Harari's overview of the current markets, as well as his tailored description of the business plan and challenges that lie ahead. I have always found him to be optimistic and realistic about SanDisk's potential, and not pessimistic, tentative or overly cautious as others have described him.
I plan to post tomorrow about specific issues that were discussed openly at the meeting. There really is not earth shattering news to report. Much of the content was already provided during the last conference call.
