I don't agree on this one. Without some sort of protection, China will become one of those South American nations which only export bananas to the world. Of course in China's case it would be textiles, stuffed animals and assembly labor. Most of modern industries have a high barrier for entry and there is a national interest to see local business develops even in the presence of external competition.
