Some Windows software allows you to choose where you locate temporary files. You could assign these to your RAM disk, and see if you notice any benefit. I agree, if this 'feature' doesn't offer any advantages to you, then you'd be better off not deploying resources on it and spending your time and effort more productively elsewhere.

At the very least, you've learned about yet another 'under the hood' issue.

P.S. I, however, am delighted that I've found a way to continue with my old working habits, even if they are inappropriate given the advances in technology in the last couple of decades. Gotta go! Time to feed the horses, and I've got to fix the pump handle or I won't be able to make any soap this afternoon.
