Good morning...

How did the NT system get to be "one partition over"
as you say?, that is, how did you install it?

I used PM copy operation which made a duplicate partition in the free space next to C: partition. PM did note something about "upcase file" not being correct, but it did not post an error message and continued with the copy function.

How do you boot it normally? Does it boot?

Just choose C: in the BIOS. Yes, C: boots as usual. Thats the original NT partition (1). The new partition (2) with the backup in it is physically the next partition after C: but with drive letter J: not hidden and without a status.
Could the drive letter be the problem? or the lack of status? I assumed only 1 primary partition per disk should or could have active status. The status question may also be the problem as it was not a real clear decision to leave J: w/o status.. although PM warns not to have more than 1 active partition per disk.

possibly was in the active partition which you
deactivated for the multi boot.

opps...I didn't deactivate the active C: partition. Now I'm confused.. what should the status of C: and J: be for a multiboot?

No hurry to reply SPots, I know your swamped (or maybe Beached?<g>)

Before Noon is fine(GGG)

Seriously..take your time with me. Breaad on the table is numero uno.
