An Unsolicited Opinion About FNTT...
I just saw a very dubious poster on a Yahoo! thread, in essence, pump FNTT. Sooooooooooooo, I decided to give it quick once-over.
If this company has merit--which it may well have--I hope they do something about the state of their PR. I just scanned their "crayola crawler" press release and caught 3 glaring grammatical errors. That's seldom a good sign. But, not nearly as disturbing as the way the release was structured.
It was apparent to me that FNTT was trying to attach itself to whatever credibility (depending upon your party) and the doubtless name recognition of VP Al Gore. Note how the over-long Al Gore section is plopped right into the middle of piece. My gosh, when you scan this trash, you get the immediate impression that Al himself is endorsing the FNTT product. Were it not for the discrete "end" put between various quotes, one could be taken in. Further, if the release could have been any longer, I don't know how. It's been rumored that Old Testament prophets are going to be appending commentaries.
Whew! If the underlying company has integrity, it's going to sound and behave like a company with integrity. It's seldom the case, that a Press Release is NOT indicative of the culture and ethic of the underlying company. One can excuse a misspelled word or improper use of the mother tongue. But, this bit of PR was a crass attempt at manipulation, IMHO.
Again, I will repeat. Maybe the company has merit. Further, if anybody over here is invested, I can tell you having been on the receiving end of some P & D tactics, I sincerely hope everything works out to your benefit. But, right now, based on first impressions, I wouldn't touch this with Al Gore's money, much less my own.
JMHO,
