Comverse Technology May Be in Talks to Buy Nice, Newspaper Says

Tel Aviv, May 13 (Bloomberg) -- Comverse Technology Inc., which makes telecommunications recording equipment, may be in talks to buy Nice Systems Ltd., a maker of equipment for voice-logging systems, Hebrew newspaper Ha'aretz reported, without naming sources. Comverse shares rose to an all-time high of 73 1/2 yesterday, boosted by speculation by investors that a takeover was on the cards, the newspaper said. Neither company would comment on the possibility they were holding talks, Ha'aretz said. |
