Company Press Release

IBM Corporation Signs Deal with Cybersurf to Advertise on
3web

CALGARY, Alberta--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 13, 1999--IBM Corporation has committed to a significant advertising campaign
utilizing 3web's advanced digital marketing capabilities.

IBM plans to use 3web's demographically intelligent advertising technology to target young, technically proficient computer and
Internet users. IBM Corporation will regularly receive a series of demographic analyses of the total 3web user base and of the 3web
users who interact with each of their advertisements.

Utilizing the animator's compression technology, these derivative ads average less than 50 kilobytes in file size when compressed.
After it is sent to the user, the ad uncompresses and plays in the proper sequential order within 3web. As such, 3web ads download
very quickly and require a small amount of space on a users hard drive. Moreover, replacement ads that are downloaded simply
overwrite outdated ones in order to minimize unnecessary caching on the user's hard drive.

The ability of 3web's continuous advertising component to deliver ad messages to a specific audience based on finite demographic
targeting is a powerful tool in the hands of advertisers. It approaches the advertiser's goal of true one-to-one marketing where
individuals are provided with information on products and services that they both want and need, and will probably purchase. Brand
awareness and brand loyalty are far easier to establish when advertisers speak to qualified demographics. IBM is very excited at the
marketing and data collection potential of 3web, and has signed a substantial advertising agreement with Cybersurf to fully exploit
this potential.

The 3web Network is a proprietary software application that was developed by Cybersurf Interactive Media, a division of Cybersurf
Corp. It offers its Calgary and Edmonton users a powerful and secure portal to anywhere on the World Wide Web, as well as Email
and E-commerce functionality. The 3web Network is subsidized by commercial advertising, and is 100 per cent free to the user.
Cybersurf's proprietary 3web advertisement-supported technology is unlike any other in existence, in that it brings highly targeted,
demographically-specific advertising to the user's desktop. While traditional portals spawn advertising within a web browser (making
it easy to bypass), 3web's portal operates independently of any Web browser and can never be hidden or disabled. No matter where
the user travels on the Internet, 3web's advertising is always visible. It is because of this feature that advertisers on 3web can be
guaranteed exact impressions and can target highly specific demographic profiles.

better understanding of Cybersurf's proprietary technology, and of the 3web Network's intelligent advertising capabilities, visit
3web.net to download the full 3web interactive overview (56MB). Cybersurf is a communications company in
the business of developing and marketing innovative software and connectivity tools. At Cybersurf, our goals are to enhance the use
of telecommunications hardware and to develop unique software, which has substantial potential for businesses and consumers.
