First Ecom.com Makes Key Management
Appointments
HONG KONG--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 12, 1999--Hong Kong based Internet credit card processing firm, First Ecom.com Inc., (OTC BB:FECC), today announced a series of key appointments to its board of directors and management team.
In a move to help strengthen its technology leadership position, First Ecom.com has appointed Cody Cain a Partner at USWeb/CKS in the Asia Pacific region, to the board of directors of First Ecom.com.
''Mr. Cain brings leading-edge expertise in Internet technology and transaction processing to our global customer base,'' said Gregory Pek, president and chief executive officer of First Ecom.com.
Meanwhile, the company has boosted its Hong Kong based management structure with the appointments of Chris Fox as Special Projects Director and Johnny Cheng as Project Manager. Both will be responsible for identifying, developing and managing the relationships between First Ecom.com and its strategic alliance partners.
Mr. Fox, a 17-year IT veteran, joins First Ecom.com from the Web Connection, a Hong Kong web design and online advertising agency. Prior to this he worked on broadband services for Hongkong Telecom.
Mr. Fox began his career at Microsoft's headquarters in Redmond, and has since established IT-related businesses in New Zealand and the USA, including a commercial ISP and an e-commerce solutions company.
Mr. Cheng, who also brings over 17 years experience in project management to First Ecom.com, has extensive experience in designing, building and project managing major telecommunications infrastructure projects across Asia.
He has worked for multinational corporations in Silicon Valley in the telecom, aerospace and semiconductor industries including Bechtel, Lockheed - Martin and National Semiconductor.
Mr. Cheng graduated from University of California at Berkeley with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and computer science. He also holds a master's degree in telecommunications management.
