Alta Vista Company, with the goal to make Alta Vista the leading
destination site for information and e-commerce on the Internet. The
company also announced plans for a public offering and to establish Alta
Vista as a publicly traded company.

It is Compaq's intention to offer shares in Alta Vista to the public in the
future. At this time, there are no details available.
