Hi,Gary:
A couple of reasons for that:
1. Paa gets more reserve and cash per share than sso does
2. PAA's management is better. Ross Beaty is respected in the industry. sso's directors will take advantage of market strength to exercise their options.
3. more than 10% of sso is hold by Teck. Teck usually sells into market strength, like they did last year, which definitely prevents stock from going higher. (In fact, I have decided not to invest in a company owned more than 10% by Teck later, simply because they know more and they are also speculating with their shares of the small company.)
4. SSRIF hasn't come up with some good news except they dropped one more property which previously they estimated to have more than 70mm ounces of silver. And PAASF came out with some good news from their cooperation with oroperu on gold exploration.
5. I know several institutions own PAASF, but I am not sure about SSO.
