Mohan: Even though I like IBM (and I think they are very good company) IMO they may be getting a little too much credit for all this internet hype. Check out this new Bloomberg description of "IBM's Growth".......

<< To be sure, IBM has had trouble in the past keeping all its
diverse businesses on track at the same time.

While first-quarter sales increased 15 percent, fourth-
quarter sales rose 5.9 percent after customers delayed purchases
of computer servers and price cuts ate into profit from
mainframes. IBM's personal computer business racked up almost $1
billion in losses last year.

While Gerstner declined to give specific projections beyond
saying he expects IBM to maintain ''double-digit'' revenue
growth, observers called his comments at yesterday's analyst
meeting in New York more upbeat than usual.
''I didn't hear a cloud in the sky,'' said Soundview
Technology Group analyst Gary Helmig, who raised his 12-month
estimate for IBM shares to 260 from 225. >>

Do you think DELL is measured by a different standard?
