I know he said it. And I agree that they're replacing homegrown, but that doesn't make it their competitor. It's almost like saying "we don't have any competition" - It's a meaningless claim. IMHO Pehong pointing to internal development is ducking the question.

A better and more salient question is, "when it comes to replacing homegrown, who is your biggest competitor?." From an investment standpoint, I'm not deciding whether to buy Anderson Consulting stock vs. BVSN, nor can I "buy" homegrown C++ developer or PERL developer stock. Not questioning the reality of the replacement process, only its relevance to the competition question.
