I doubt vrty will partner with Microsoft. msft has its own team
for their IIS and index server. Gates made a lot of investment in
this team. I wonder what vrty can offer here.
Technology wise, fulcf is better than vrty. I just happened to
believe vrty has a better management team. Unfortunately, as Kumar
pointed out, they change their management too often, too fast.
Remember the former Sybase VP who joint vrty 6 months ago, he
left in the last re-structuring.
In the recent Inter@ctive week, an editor says there is just no
reason for a search/retrieval application to be independent
companies. Although I donot necessarily agree, it is the current
sentiment on the street.
In my view, database can be classifed into 3 catergories --relational,
object , and textual. Search/retrieval ware is the textual databse,
there should be a market, huge market. That's why I think there
should be a leader in this area. |
