INTERNET--(esecurities.W)--May 13, 1999 - (E3) SAITEK DEBUTS IN CONSOLE MARKET WITH FIRST TILT PAD WITH SHOCK
LOS ANGELES (May 12, 1999)--Saitek Industries is expanding its line of PC gaming peripherals to include console gaming with the introduction of the PX3000 and the PX2500 for Playstationä . The PX3000 is the first console pad with tilt and shock.
The tilt feature allows gamers using the PX3000 to climb, dive and turn while shock, included in both the PX2500 and PX3000, provides bumps and shakes much like force feedback. The PX3000 and the PX2500 offer gamers full control as well as superior styling and ergonomics. Both products are twin analog controllers with 4-way D pads, improved force-feedback effects with state-of-the-art double shock mechanism, an easy-to-use throttle wheel positioned to give added finger control, an LED display, four triggers, four buttons and two mode switches.
The PX3000 and PX2500 also offer Saitek's unique lockable analog axes, a feature designed to improve control when video gamers need to control X and Y (e.g. braking, accelerating) separately.
"With the success of Saitek's PC peripherals in the last two years, we are thrilled to enter the console market," said Nicholas Gibbons, chief operating officer of Saitek in the United States. "We are confident that Saitek's first two Playstation products will offer gamers the extra control they've been waiting for."
Saitek plans to ship the PX2500 and PX3000 in September at suggested retail prices of $34.95 and $59.95, respectively. For more information, contact Saitek at 1-800-452-4377 or visit the website at www.saitek.com."
