Thanks, Joe:

I did that already and I'm still having the same trouble with
the Netscape browser--I don't think it's the browser but I
think something I downloaded screwed up the o/s.

I was hoping I could get the bugs out without having to go
back and reinstall everything.

Meanwhile, today's paper says there's been another serious
bug discovered in IE3.0 that's even worse than the security
bug that was discovered last week.
