EMC CEO Discusses Hewlett-Packard Challenge: Company Comment 5/13/99 17:19 New York, May 13 (Bloomberg) -- EMC Corporation Chief Executive Michael Ruettgers spoke with financial news network CNBC about Hewlett-Packard Co.'s comment earlier this month that it will likely stop reselling EMC products in favor of Japan's Hitachi Data Systems: ''We don't think overall it's going to be much of an impact. In the first quarter they represented 13 percent of our revenue. We think that the relationships we have with customers is very strong and that we won't see any impact of this transition.'' ''Where we are allowed to sell directly, we can keep some of the margin that we give to Hewlett-Packard.'' ''Their (Hitachi) system has to be at least 2 years older than ours.
