I'll just have to live with 56K (53,333 on Netcom)

till ADSL get's cheaper, or
Cable Modems come to my area.

DirecPC is nice whenever it decides
to give you the bandwidth you are
paying for; but all this continued
aggrevation with this heartless
company, simply ain't worth it.

Dual-Modem's are a great idea as
I myself have endorsed, but I have
no need for a second phone line, so
I'd rather not bother at this time.

as for DTN, you usually get pointing
service from the dealer; it's just not
the same level of service on DirecPC.
I think the motto at DirecPC is not
that the "customer is always right"
rather, the "customer is always stupid
until proven otherwise; then just say
we're sorry, but that's the way it is."

You know what's even more disturbing?
over the years I've had to cancel many
a subscription service, and invariably
they offer and beg to keep you online,
and even have special cancellation
agents to talk you out of leaving.
When I called to cancel DirecPC,
they just did it, and that was all,
did'nt even ask me why. Amazing.
Women did'nt even have my account
on her screen to know how many years
I had been a patient DirecPC customer.
Good Riddance.
