John,
I agree it's easy to get impatient!! I have held this one since it was 2$.

I spoke with IR recently and they advised that the launch will take place this week or next. TV advertising has started and the first draw is imminent. The first earnings release will follow at some time after the first week.

Some background to the draw supplied by IR if it hasn't been already published:
There will be daily draws of $20K each and one large weekly draw of $200K. (This compares to existing government-run lotto prizes of $5K weekly). The emphasis is on a larger number of winners rather than huge prizes. In addition there will be roll-over if prizes aren't won which isn't the case at present.

The current per-capita betting is $16US per annum based on the existing paper-based system and prizes.

Hanoi is 3.6 million people, Ho Chi Minh is 10.4 million.

There will be approximately 300 terminals ready for the first draw.

Based on the Hanoi population and per-capita betting, the AGC slice is 4% - you can guess the type of income AGC is looking at. I calculated about 15c/share Canadian annually less expenses and administration. With the increased advertising and improved prizes it is possible the per-capita spend will increase beyond its current levels. Add Ho Chi Minh, the figures increase substantially.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
