Well, I can't just blame this administration. Chinese spying has been a major threat since the early '80s. The evidence indicates that China obtained many of our nuclear secrets during the '80s as indicated by their willingness to sign the nuclear test ban treaty. Why would they sign unless they were sure their weapons worked properly.

But hey... The French have had an aggressive espionage campaign against the US as well, and we against them.... :0) Take it as a compliment that this nation has so much to offer that people feel they need to copy it. After all, imitation is the greatest form of flattery.

It is unfortunate that counter-intelligence funding has generally been the first thing to be cut, and last thing to be increased. That is, until you have an Aldrich Ames, Jonathan Pollard, or John Walker penetrating or compromising some of our most important secrets or getting agents executed.

Nobody likes a buddy-****er, and that is how the CoIntel sector is perceived. Oftentimes with good reason... <VBG>

As for missile technology, who knows. The same technology is required for delivering satellites on multi-staged boosters as it is for delivering MIRVs.

But so long as we still have those Trident submarines lurking around, we'll also have the last words in any international argument.

Regards,

Ron
