Trading between listed exchanges such as TSE vs NYSE is fine but you should use a broker which allows Cdn and US trades in the same account such as Investorline

My account with Greenline lets me trade Cdn and US out of the same account. I bought BII in Canada and tried to sell it as BIDS in the U.S but the system wouldn't let me do the trade. I never followed up on it but just assumed that I couldn't do it. I'll check with Greenline tomorrow and see why the trade wouldn't go through...maybe I could do it the whole time and didn't even know.
