[I think analysts are conveniently overlooking IBM's slow growth rates, and declining HW revenue to spin it as a "safe" internet play. Remember, nobody gets fired for recomending IBM..]

A few weeks ago, an article in The New York Times also mentioned IBM's slow growth rate. The article suggested that IBM's growth was NOT THAT GOOD. I don't have the article but I believe article suggested that one way IBM improved their earnings was to borrow money. The money that they borrowed made their earnings look better than they really were. BUT I am not sure how borrowed money will be used.

Perhaps someone else recalls that article.
