Hey rick f,
I don't think that $248 per person for air and hotel is that bad. You would spend the same amount for room only, if you didn't get a package deal.
Have you been in Las Vegas before? I would question renting a car. We found out that it is a lot easier to take a taxi, tram or bus. There are so many people that you have to watch out for when driving. San Remo is close to Luxor, Excalibur and MGM, so at least one day you won't even drive the car. And if you get hungry, Fat Burger is about two blocks away.
Reasons not to rent a car:
1. Chance of hitting a person who walks in front of the car.
2. Walking a block to get from the parking lot to the casino.
3. Always walking into the casino through the back door rather than the main entrance.
4. You can not see the sights when you are driving.
Okay, so maybe you like to drive.
Regards.
