AGM held in Ottawa

The AGM went off without a hitch. Dr. Mossivand unveiled the production model of the Heartsaver...a pretty sight indeed !! Mr. Bryden outlined the financials and the way ahead for Worldheart. So far we are meeting our projected milestones and had only fallen back by two weeks in an earlier quarter....so I guess that means we are back on target.

Some of the 'shocking" points made by Mr. Bryden was that there were only 166 natural hearts available in Canada for transplant last year. The need is 50,000 so I think heartsaver will be very much in demand here in Canda right from the get-go!

A cardiac surgeon by the name of Dr. Lucchese(SP) from Brazil attended the meeting and spoke of Worldhearts achievements and said that the Heartsaver would be the "first scientific milestone of the next century, for sure".!
Dr. Lucchese represents 3 of the largest hospitals in Brazil where there are about 5,000 open heart surgeries done a year. Brazil loses 100,000 people to heart disease each year. Dr. Luchesse stated that there are 8,000,000 people with "chuka's"(spelling probably incorrect) disease which is a mosquito borne disease that attacks the heart. Apparently the heartsaver would add quality of life for these people as well.

The meeting was pretty 'straight laced" place was filled with "suits". I had an opportunity to talk to Sandy Armstrong from Public relations, she is a very personable lady with a genuine interest in the sucess of the Heartsaver, it was a pleasure to meet her. I talked with Ian Malone three times, and expressed my concern with Dr. Cowplands selling of his shares, because of the image it created. Ian is a very easy going person who looks like he'll never need a heartsaver, he is a very relaxed and personable person!!

The thing that impressed me the most about the production Heartsaver was how quiet it was. The unit sitting in the "tank" had mechanical valves rather than tissue valves but, i was told that if you were to stand next to a person with a heartsaver you would not be able to hear it at all! Also, unless you are really "tuned" to your own heartbeat...apparently some people can hear their own heartbeat, I can't, then the receipient will not be able to hear the heartsaver either!!

I think we are definetly participating in a winning technology and a winning stock!

As I think of things I will post them. This is accurate information as far as i remember it! Others must have attended, so if i have said somehing they feel inaccurate, please feel free to correct!
