Tim,

I do care who makes the CPU because the company that is setting the
standards and pushing performance will be the one in business longest
and will have the most software available on their platform. I don't
see the other two companies that you mention as having any chance
of being "technology leaders". Both of those companies are having a
hard time just being technology followers. Over the past 2 years, the
picture for AMD has gotten worse and worse. Failed K6 designs,
purchasing NexGen to bail them out and now FINALLY a product to
compete with P6's at .35um. Intel will remedy this soon (~9 months)
with P5 and P6 releases in .25um technology running at 300+mhz. This
is the sort of leadership that will continue to guarantee Intel a
>90% market share of CPU's.
