BEFORE THE BELL - Oracle ticks up
NEW YORK, May 14 (Reuters) - Oracle Corp. shares moved higher in pre-opening trade Friday, recouping some of Thursday's losses amid worries about profits at the database software giant.

Oracle was trading at 24 on the Instinet electronic broker system, up from a Thursday close of 23.

Oracle fell 2-5/16 Thursday after Morgan Stanley Dean Witter cut its earning forecast ahead of a company meeting with analysts.

International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM - news) eased to 245-3/4 in pre-open dealings from a Thursday close at 246. IBM soared 20-3/8 Thursday after the computer giant said it was benefiting from its Internet strategy.
