Are they going to have a new product offering that will make them a viable replacement for anything currently out there in the mixed signal arena? I consider Imp's stuff nearly semi-custom; and relative to TI & others, low volume.
In my opinion (please note that phrase!), the only 'News' or 'exitement' (or whatever) prior postings might have been refering to was the Mitel 8980 replacement. But that info has been available since Nov. 1996, and I can't see ATT or any of the big players relying greatly on Imp, given all the history, and the current status of the company (earnings, layoffs, stock price, suits). If some huge user was placing a large standing order, that might be some pretty good news, I guess.
Do any of you telecom experts know how deeply Imp is going to try to get into digital switching/telecom? Doesn't seem like a sector they are too up on but, hey, Harly Davidson was a shell contractor during the war.
Oh, on a positive note, they are indeed ISO certified now, according to their page. |
