The I* birds will be used to supply just what they originally were designed to: phone service. The way the whole affair was structured, it appears to me to have been very favorable for the Bat people. They got bunches of money up front for system integration, satellite construction, launch service, ect. Then they are in line for huge fees for maintenance. Now they will be first in line to get paid on the restructuring. Mot will take over the 'new' system, at a significantly lower cost structure. It still remains to be seen if they can market it.
