Hi Grant,

Ya can't compare PEM's to SOFC's.

My understanding is that PEM's use only hydrogen, pure hydrogen, then even require an additional component to make sure the hydrogen is pure. From what I have read it would cost $5,000,000 to retrofit a gas station to supply hydrogen.

SOFC's run on fossil fuels. Already available at gas stations. Natural gas is available in most homes. It has been stated that SOFC's can produce more power then PEM's at lower temp's.

I think with PEM's your are limited. SOFC's have unlimited potential. As for temperatures I don't really think the difference between 200 c and 600 c really matters, both temp's are real hot anyway.

Time will tell.

Jim
