Sorry to hear about your losses. Don't forget AMZN helped you get them back as well. It generally isn't the stock. Most stocks have trading potential. I've always thought that if one has been a very logical investor, net trading is just not their cup of tea, or at least they need a lot of paper trading before they can succeed. OTOH, the new investors/traders are better as they learn from scratch and having been exposed to these conditions right at the start, know the game.... Australian stocks go up or down by 5c a day. They add or lose maybe a couple of dollars a year. My hottest stock was Telstra - bought at 1.95 in the IPO, and sold eight months later for 3.8 ! Percentage gains were good, but the financial gains were pretty limited as markets were never dependable and one couldn't put their entire savings into equities ! The telstra kind of growth ina stock had been "unprecedented" LOL ....so this market was pretty insane for me when I started investing in American equities last March !!!!! It made me so reckless that I made more in those few months than I have done my entire investing history ! I guess I was quickly educated in the "fast market conditions". Maybe ignorance maybe a bliss and maybe I will turn out to be one of the 9 out of your 10 traders.......who knows ?????!!!!!?????? But I am very aware of the fact and prepared to lose it all...and that kinda makes you strong ! Thats in investment and stocks, but technology - thats what I feel very strongly about - THAT is here to stay !!!!!
