It looks like Toshiba is one of the suppliers for the SRAM for the Intel Klamath - look at the picture of the Klamath module;

You are right about IDTI being unlikely to make much from selling SRAM to Intel. On the other hand, if they can fill excess capacity with high volume parts it may be better than letting it go unused.
