<<<<I am currently going through that hair thing. I boldly bought the 32 bit ATI Rage Fury three weeks ago. This card has been out for two or three months now and the current drivers are called "release candidates"? Talk about buggy. My PC locked up on the first installation. The dealer touted it as great before I bought, then when I go back with problems, they said "a lot of people are having problems". They said the drivers had not been perfected, but to beat the competition to market, ATI retailed the card with buggy drivers. After hours of finaggling, I got it working. I had to remove non-essential startup files to get my PC to boot into Windows 98 without locking up. Why the conflict with startup files? Beats me, but it worked! My Diamond Viper 330 NEVER had a problem.>>>>

The Rage Fury card has caused nothing but problems for those who have bought it since it was released. I bought one and after a few hours took it back realizing that the drivers were horrid. Through Usenet there was a link to a Russian site that had what appears to be drivers that are more than sufficient to run the card but as there is no support for them I passed. I have talked with two people that said they used them and they worked fine. By that time I was too disgusted and decided to just go 16 bit with the Viper 550.

<<<ATI did respond to my emailed problem report (I had/have other quarky issues). The solutions involve more finaggling. So much for plug-and-play, excuse me, that's plug-and-pray. I must say though, the DVD movie output through the Rage Fury is great! I think I spend more time watching movies on my PC rather than computing. ;)>>>

Yeah I would have enjoyed using the Rage card but just gave up.

<<<GTIS stock is up about 50% in three weeks! Someone's making some serious money here (not me, of course). Are we excited yet?>>>

OUI ! <smirk>
